Redundancy is an unfortunate reality of the current market conditions.  But how can Business Managers and HR functions prepare for managing people during this difficult time, and what skills are needed to deliver challenging and sensitive mesages?

Steps Drama Learning Development, Europe's leading exponent of experiential learning, will present an interactive workshop to explore the challenging and complex subject of handling difficult redundancy and restructuring conversations.  Event partners Synergy Employment Law will provide the legislative understanding of the general principles surrounding the redundancy process, as well as addressing specific issues arising from each scenario.

As well as the legal framework, the session will offer practical tips and guidelines on the challenges presented by the behavioural aspect of the conversations.  How are people going to react?  What is the best technique to deal with the angry silence?  Will there be tears?  As a manager, how do you put your own emotions to one side?

This session is designed in such a way to encourage peer support and the sharing of best practice - as well as leaving delegates with the knowledge and tools to have effective redundancy conversations.
