Represent your profession locally

You belong to the largest construction management community anywhere in the world; formed, shaped and led by members since we began back in 1834. We are looking for members who want to get more involved with us locally in our Hubs to help us influence the industry. There are many CIOB hubs worldwide that deliver local events, CPD and networking that members can join and take part in.

Representing our profession in your local area is both a responsibility and a rewarding opportunity. It will help you develop your local networks, build your strategic and leadership skills and most importantly, expand your knowledge and expertise by giving something back to your fellow construction professionals. 

To lead these hubs we look for Chartered members who care about helping others in their area, that have a strong sense for the issues and topics that members need to know about and that can help us showcase professionalism in the industry.  In return you will get a unique platform to raise your own profile and inspire others.

 

FAQs about Committee Hub Recruitment

What's involved?

Committees meet four times per year, and you may not need to travel as meetings can take place by conference call or Skype. In between meetings, we need you to help develop 12 month plans that support our corporate vision at a local level, come up with ideas for events, venues and sponsors and offer your advice and knowledge of construction issues in your area.

What criteria does the CIOB look for?

You need to be either a Charetered Member (either MCIOB or FCIOB) to apply for a role.  The CIOB wants people to take part who care about helping other members in their area and have a strong sense for the issues that professionals need to know about.

Who chooses the hub representative?

Applications for hub representative roles go through the CIOB Nominations Committee (made up of CIOB members).

What hub can I stand for?

Have a look at our Local Hubs structure here. You can apply to join a Hub committee that is located either where you live or where you work, but you may only vote in elections for the Hub where your primary address is registered.

What support can I expect?

You will work in partnership with staff which includes a full induction to the role and you will recieve support from the wider CIOB network and members who are active with us in your area.
