About the Role
Here at the CIOB, we are looking for a Business Development Advisor to join our Customer Services team. This is a brand new role within the Company, within a newly formed team. This is an exciting step towards the future for us: we are looking for someone who wants to be part of our journey.
The right person will take a pro-active approach to member acquisition, upgrades and retention. He/she will also promote the wider CIOB product portfolio through outbound activity. The role will report to the Membership and Customer Services Manager, who heads up our Customer Services team as a whole.
The Business Development Advisor will work closely with the inbound team to deliver an exceptional service and improved customer satisfaction and retention rates. You will encourage conversion and members to attain Chartered membership and ultimately deliver on the CIOB growth strategy.
What we’re looking for…
We’re looking for an individual who can confidently question, probe and listen to client’s needs. You must be skilled at building rapport and will be able to articulate the CIOB value proposition, identifying opportunities and gaining commitment. Comfortable working to targets and other performance measures, you will have excellent telephone call handling skills. You will be able to deal appropriately with people at all levels; developing a positive working relationship with team members, colleagues and other departments as required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must, as is a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and flexibility in response to changing priorities and needs. As this is new role for us, we are looking for someone who can help us establish and embed the role in the organisation. You will not be coming into a rigid, prescriptive job role. We need someone with an agile, collaborative and confident approach, happy to work within the broad brush strokes of the role and help us put the detail in.
We’d also like you to be IT literate to include familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, CRM software and web applications, and have an aptitude for learning new IT systems quickly. Full training will be provided.
