About the Role

Here at the CIOB, we are now looking for a Disciplinary Officer to provide effective support to the disciplinary process of our members. Liaising closely with Governance colleagues and investigators, you will be responsible for the effective case management for all disciplinary cases and ensure a smooth process, in line with the disciplinary regulations.

Acting as a first point of contact for all Professional Conduct activities, you will ensure enquiries are responded to in a timely manner, are accurately documented and progressed to the relevant process where appropriate. You will manage each complaint from receipt, through the disciplinary process to conclusion and ensure established processes are followed within the agreed timescales. The Disciplinary Officer will also support the Technical Manager with the investigation process to include coordinating and presenting all evidence and support the Director of Governance with the handling of disciplinary hearings.

About You

Do you have demonstrable experience within a legal or regulatory environment? Do you have the ability to draft technical documents and reports, produce bundles of evidence and arrange and document complex meetings? If so, then we’d be delighted to hear from you!

We’re looking for an individual who has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and who can communicate at all levels from senior staff, technical experts and to members of the public. You’ll have the ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload and be experienced in dealing with confidential matters. We’d also like you to have strong administration skills, a strong attention to detail, a high level of diligence and the ability to keep accurate records.

Experience of working within the construction or built environment sector is desirable.
