The Chartered Institute of Building has opened applications for three of its scholarships: the Construction Innovation Scholarship, the Sir Ian Dixon scholarship and the Sustainability scholarship. The CIOB works with other organisations, including the Worshipful Company of Constructors, the College of Estate Management, and LABC, providing experts to help mentor sponsored students through their research activities.

The Sir Ian Dixon scholarship, named after the CIOB’s President from 1989 to 1990 and head of Willmott Dixon, is designed to provide an opportunity for companies to develop the potential of their staff through a research programme. Each successful scholar will be awarded £3,000 to carry out a research project that will benefit the scholar, their company and the industry. The scholars will continue to work full time during the scholarship year. Applications for this scholarship close on Friday 30 November 2020

The Sustainability scholarship, established in 2013, encourages a company to carry out research using one of its employees. The £3000 scholarship is awarded annually, and the subject of the research must benefit both the individual company and the wider industry. The candidate will meet with experts every few months to receive support and mentoring, with a presentation, hosted by their company, to share their findings at the end of the 12-month scholarship period. Applications for this scholarship close on Friday 30 November 2020.

The Construction Innovation scholarship is brand new for 2020, and can help develop invaluable knowledge and skills to enable you to excel in a career in construction management through a research project. This scholarship is aimed at sector professionals working anywhere in the world. This is a great opportunity for academics, undergraduates or postgraduates who are currently studying at a CIOB accredited HEI and FE institution. Applications for this scholarship close on Friday 4 December 2020.
