CIOB strengthens financial support offer for members

Published

5th August 2020

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) has confirmed that there will be no increase in subscription fees for individual or company members for 2021. The prices for annual membership will be frozen at 2020 levels. The Institute has also confirmed the set-up of a “Covid-19 support fund” specifically for members who are facing financial difficulties as a result of the pandemic.

Since the pandemic started to cause lockdowns and have an impact on the industry across the world, the CIOB has been trying to offer, on a case-by-case basis, financial support for members in need, primarily via the organisation’s Benevolent Fund.

The new “Covid-19 support fund” is now formalising the support available to members with a concession on the 2021 subscriptions available to those who have been furloughed, on reduced pay or facing redundancy. There is a simple application form for those wishing to make use of the concession and the Customer Services team are available to answer questions from members about the new fund.

Other membership costs, such as the admission and Professional Review fees, will also be held at 2020 prices.

Please note that the “Covid-19 support fund” is available to the following grades of CIOB membership:

•            MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Building)

•            FCIOB (Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building)

•            ACIOB (Associate Member)

•            ICIOB (Incorporated Member)

The CIOB Benevolent Fund is also available to support all members and past members with financial advice and support and mental health and wellbeing support: https://www.ciobbenevolentfund.org.uk/
