An open letter to business from the Prime Minister
Published
Today the CIOB, along with many other organisations and businesses, has received a letter from the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announcing a new Brexit deal. Importantly, this letter does not mean that a deal has been agreed with the UK parliament and the Government must receive support from MPs in a vote tomorrow (on Saturday 19 October 2019).
The short letter, dated 17 October 2019, includes this statement: “I am pleased to report that we have successfully negotiated a deal which provides the basis of a new relationship with the EU based on free trade and friendly cooperation.”
We encourage our members to read the letter and we will keep members updated with any further announcements. The letter is available as a pdf below or can be found on the gov.uk web site.
