About the Role

Joining our expanding Communications Team, the Media Relations Officer will deliver the public relations function across the business and take ownership of CIOB media relations, ensuring that the CIOB voice is engaging, consistent and visible in targeted CIOB media.


Managing a pro-active and responsive press function that utilises key members and staff to promote the work of the CIOB, you will write media releases, comments, statements, advertorials and any other material that helps us tell our story and foster strong media relationships worldwide. Keeping the business informed of what is happening in our external agenda, you will manage our suppliers which include our media monitoring and distribution services and provide media guidance and advice to the rest of the business, providing feedback on industry news to relevant teams in order to build our market intelligence.


What we’re looking for…

We’re looking for a highly creative, service driven individual who has relevant recognised qualifications and practical communications experience, preferably gained in a busy press office environment or PR agency. A strong team player with excellent all-round communication skills, you will have demonstrable traditional and digital communications experience, including social media, and have previously worked with journalists. You’ll also have the ability to manage communication campaigns across multiple channels, be able to shape content online and offline and have knowledge of using data to influence campaigns and to better understand the audience.
