The competition develops leadership skills by challenging students to run their own construction company
The Chartered Institute of Building is at the heart of a management career in construction.
We are the world's largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership. We have a Royal Charter to promote the science and practice of building and construction for the benefit of society, and we’ve been doing that since 1834. Our members work worldwide in the development, conservation and improvement of the built environment.
Welcome to events.ciob.org. We put on more than 500 events each year, often run by our Local Hubs and Regions.
If you want to find out what's going on near you then you can do so in these pages or by getting in touch with our contacts where you are.
There is a wide variety of events to choose from including pure networking activity through to CPD sessions, conferences, seminars, awards and even exhibitions.
We represent the largest professional network of managers in construction found anywhere in the world.
Through our offices and branches we offer local support and connections with other members on the ground.
So if you want to get involved then get in touch with our contacts near to you. If you're a student member then our Novus groups can be found here as well.
Our aim is to advance construction management education and to give access to that knowledge so that it can be shared and added to.
We do this in a number of ways but what you will find in this section are our views on leading issues within the industry, access to our special interest groups and information contained within our library, along with data we create through our own membership and beyond.
Just as individuals work towards Chartered Membership, entire organisations can also achieve Chartered status with CIOB. This badge of honour is validation that the business is professionally managed and operating to high ethical codes. Put simply: core CIOB values run through its DNA. The CBC scheme has been developed by the industry for the industry. Its goals are to:
