Associate Director – Marketing and Digital

We are currently looking for an Associate Director of Marketing and Digital to join our team at the Chartered Institute of Building, based at our head office in Bracknell. No two days will be the same in this exciting position, so if you thrive in an ever changing environment and love to get your teeth into a real challenge then this could be just the role for you! 

You will be responsible for the Institute’s marketing, communications and digital strategies, and will be tasked with delivering a content rich and highly valued service to our Members which results in long and lasting engagement at all levels.  Leading our marketing and communications activities, you will have the ability to identify and exploit the most effective marketing and digital techniques and technologies to enable us to achieve our strategic objectives. 

It goes without saying that you will have a strong background in all areas of marketing and know your craft well, but it’s also essential for you to be a champion of digital marketing and an expert in this area who can support the Executive Board to drive forward a digital change programme, and to set the strategic direction for investments in marketing.  

You will be able to demonstrate experience of preparing and executing marketing strategies which deliver against agreed targets and KPIs, and will be able to present valuable insight and analysis of activity to the wider organisation.  Crucially, you will also have a track record of delivering significant change to an organisation’s marketing strategy whilst remaining sensitive to its culture, values and ethos.  

A strong and relatable leader, you will be able to motivate and build capability within your team, and won’t be afraid of taking personal responsibility for activities where appropriate.  Collaborative in your approach, you will have the ability to build strong and lasting relationships both internally and externally, and it goes without saying that excellent technical, project management and organisation skills will be key. 

Experience of working within a professional body, membership or not for profit environment would be advantageous, as would an understanding of the built environment - however if you feel you have the right skills, experience and most of all approach to offer a valuable contribution to the CIOB then we want to hear from you!
