The age of digital information in construction is here. The CIOB is supporting the FutureFit project in South East England to help small and medium sized enterprises become early adopters; where information is king and technology enables fast and efficient ways to communicate.

Eddie Tuttle from the CIOB said: "Both BIM and Soft Landings are central to the Government Construction Strategy and mandated for adoption on public new build and refurbishment projects by 2016. Together they require new processes that need to be administered through design and creation, and into operation.  Simply, its about information and how that is communicated."

The FutureFit project is a programme of fully-funded business support which offers the expertise of consultant partners in a variety of interventions, tailored to have optimum impact on both individual companies and the sector’s ability respond to modern challenges.  Part-financed by South East European Regional Development Fund Programme 2007 to 2013, FutureFit is designed to help local companies thrive and grow.

FutureFit road shows are being held across the region to explain the free support that is available, the business case for getting involved and how to qualify for acceptance into the programme.

The roadshows are free and you can find more information at  http://www.secbe.org.uk/futurefit
