Specialist Interest Groups Co-Ordinator
The Chartered Institute of Building is the world’s largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership and our workforce is key to our continued success.
In supporting the Institute’s activities, the Policy, Research and Public Affairs team works closely with industry leaders, Government Groups and other Stakeholders in the promotion and support of the Construction arena.
We now have an exciting role within this team for a Specialist Interest Groups Co-Ordinator, where for the right person, their numerous skills in organising, managing and facilitating meetings, relationship building, project management and administration will be fully utilised across a number of key areas supporting this specialist group of CIOB Members.
Examples of what you could be involved in include but are not limited to:
- Our Special Interest Groups, where groups of industry leaders and specialists share their expertise on pertinent topics which can lead to the formation of Policy.
- Developing our Ambassador programme to align with the activity of the SIGs but also to support policy and public affairs engagement across the Institute.
- Our Innovation and Research Awards programme and CIOB’s wider research agenda.
We’re looking for an individual who is qualified to degree level or who has equivalent experience in a research, policy or educational environment. Enthusiastic and flexible with strong interpersonal skills, you will have experience of administering and overseeing meetings and projects. If you have knowledge of administering funding mechanisms for research (grants, awards) that would also be useful.
The role demands a confident, highly organised self-starter who can work well as part of a small team. A natural networker who has the ability to manage groups and facilitate discussions, you will be confident in dealing with senior professionals and in contributing your own view point. You will need to have good planning and organisational skills to allow you to meet tight deadlines. Good written and creative ability is essential as is the ability to copy-write and proof-read.
Knowledge of the construction industry and built environment would be a distinct advantage however this is not essential.
Although this role is based in Bracknell, we also ask that you are willing to travel to London and other regions on occasions.
