Trustee Recruitment

The Board of Trustees consists of 16 CIOB Fellows and Members. They have the ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of the Institute and delivering its Royal Charter objectives. They set policy, oversee the budget and are legally responsible for the Institute.

Trusteeships are prestigious positions. Trustees are committed to developing the work of the CIOB, spreading influence and raising standards in the wider industry.

Recruitment is now open for four positions on the Board of Trustees commencing July 2018. Three candidates will be elected to the Board, with a further candidate selected to the Board.

The first stage in the application process is the written application form. This can be completed online by using the link below. The Application form site is hosted by the CIOB’s provider, Mi-Voice.

The ‘Guidelines for Candidates’ document is available below for assistance with the completion of this form and with further information on the application and recruitment process. These Guidelines are also available on the application site.


  • All candidates for the Trustee roles must be current Chartered Members of the CIOB (MCIOB or FCIOB).
  • All elements of this process have been overseen by the Nominations Committee and its final decision is binding.
