Jez Cutler has been working in the construction sector for over 20 years, with more than 15 years experience with Travis Perkins in supply chain sustainability management. He is now a bespoke sustainability consultant helping companies like St Gobain, Aggregate Industries, Barratt, TfL and Morgan Sindall tell better stories.
Jez is a Fairness Inclusion and Respect (FIR) Ambassador and FIR Trainer and has recently run webinars on recruiting and retaining people with disabilities.
Jez feels he has witnessed some big shifts in diversity and inclusive thinking and that it is now time to shine a light on visible and invisible disability inclusiveness in our industry, becoming a founding member of a new networking and campaigning group for the construction community - Construct-Ability. Jez got involved with the Construct-ability network because he is interested in accelerating change in the way impairments are understood so that people with disabilities feel welcome and supported in the sector.
Jez has a type of Muscular Dystrophy which has meant that from his late 20s his muscles have gradually become weaker. His disability became apparent after he started working and has been a powered wheelchair user for the last 5 years.
Jez continues to support Travis Perkins with sustainability issues and is excited about the sustainable future. which includes simply being appreciated for a job done well done.
