Example of work 1
Project: Meltwater Sector: Commercial Services: Fit Out Consultants: LYN Atelier - Essential to the world of PR and communications, Meltwater provides media monitoring and business intelligence for companies large and small across the UK. BSPS were asked to complete a fit-out of the entire office to ensure the Meltwater team had an inspiring, functional and fun place to work. The team fitted a bar and break-out spaces which included a ping-pong table. They also created reception and waiting areas, meeting rooms, booths and an open-plan office space. Mechanical and electrical works were carried out as well as lighting, fire alarms and IT installation. The work done was completely bespoke to Meltwater and incorporated a sleek, modern design with quickly elements such as the installation of a bell for the team to ring whenever a sale is made. Now that the office is fully kitted out with everything a media professional could need, the team is sure to be motivated to make even more sales.
Example of work 2
Project: The Royal Exchange Sector: Retail Services: Refurbishment Consultants: Gardiner & Theobald - The Royal Exchange was founded in the 16th Century. The Grade I listed building features an imposing eight-column entrance, inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, and is now a luxury destination offering boutique shopping and dining. BSPS were called upon for their expertise in historic buildings when the site needed refurbishment. The work had to be split into four sections: the mezzanine, the courtyard, the staircase and the basement. For the mezzanine, the team stripped out the old restaurant areas and provided new raised access floors and services ready for the new Fortnum & Mason kitchen. In the courtyard, the old bar and furniture was removed along with the old floor tiles. The underfloor heating was repaired and stunning new stone flooring and services for the new bar and restaurant were installed. The staircases had to be completely removed and were replaced with beautifully made curved stone and ‘PVD Almond Gold’ stainless steel. The new stairs were designed and built off site using 3D modelling and the stone was manufactured and transported from Portugal. The building remained occupied throughout the work and the team worked at night, to very tight deadlines to ensure minimal disruption.
Example of work 3
Project: Holborn Town Hall Sector: Public Services: Decoration & Restoration Consultants: Stewart Watson - Town halls are at the very heart of a community, but few are as beautiful as the magnificent Holborn Town Hall in London. This Grade II listed building features early French Renaissance and Baroque detail and won’t fail to impress anyone who walks by. With such a remarkable structure, a highly skilled team were required to restore it. BSPS worked on stone repairs, cleaning, roof repairs and even touched up the gold leafing to the crest on the balconies. The team also undertook window refurbishment and replaced some of the damaged timber. As the building was in a poor state, some of the stonework had to be reformed on site to create the stunning architectural details. Scaffolding was erected and struck at night as the building is on such a busy road. With BSPS’s exceptional attention to detail and expert care, the grand hall was soon looking brand new.
