Rand Associates commenced trading in 1975. We are a multi-disciplinary practice of Quantity Surveyors, Building Surveyors and Energy Advisors specialising in the maintenance of Social Housing for both Local Authorities and Registered Social Landlords.

From our offices in Reigate and Birkenhead we provide consultancy services to the Public Sector throughout the UK mainly in respect to the maintenance of Social Housing.

We are the developers of the M3NHF Schedule of Rates complete with model Conditions of Contract and Trade Preambles, which is utilised by over 450 social landlords in the procurement of all aspects of maintenance to over two million homes. We are advisors to the National Housing Maintenance Forum.

Organisation Name: Wokingham Borough Council Type Of Organisation: Local Authority Size of Organisation: Approx 2,700 dwellings (plus leaseholders and garages). Type of Work: Stock Condition Survey & Asset Management Support Period Of Contract: November 2010 to July 2012. Summary of Contract: Following a successful tender process, Rand Associates were commissioned to undertake a 20% sample stock condition survey on behalf of the client. just under 600 properties were surveyed plus associated blocks. All survey data was provided to feed into the client's live Keystone system, and a summary report produced to inform the business plan and future strategies. Wokingham BC re-commissioned Rand Associates to assist in a number of asset management related roles. These included assistance with Decent Homes reporting in conjunction with the back-log bid, provision of reports to central government, assistance with sustainability policy, and training for surveyors and office staff on the client's asset management system. Rand Associates have also undertaken further stock condition surveys on behalf of Wokingham BC. Organisation Name: Central and Cecil Housing Trust Type Of Organisation: Not-for-profit registered provider Type of Work: Procurement Consultancy Period Of Contract: October 2011 to January 2012. Summary of Contract: Rand Associates undertook the advertising for submissions in regards to four separate maintenance contracts, the subsequent evaluation of all submissions leading to the creation of a list of contractors selected to tender for each contract, the preparing of tender documents and the issuing of these to those contractors selected to tender, and the subsequent analysis of tender returns received from all those contractors, on behalf of the client. 31 contractors submitted applications across the four contracts. The contracts were in regard to: Periodic servicing, maintenance and repair of gas and oil fired commercial boilers and heating installations to mulit flat social housing schemes including water hygiene works. 3 star servicing, maintenance and repair of gas and other fuel fired domestic and communal (small scale) boilers and heating installations to social housing dwellings. Periodic servicing and inspections, responsive maintenance including out of hours emergency callouts and major works (planned maintenance, improvement and repairs) to lifts, stairlifts and other disability hoist installations to social housing dwellings.
