Summary

Join CIOB & Southsea Coastal Scheme for a tour of this Coastal Defence Project.

Southsea Coastal Scheme is the UK’s largest local authority led coastal defence project, worth around £180M, it will stretch for 4.5km from Old Portsmouth to Eastney. When built, the new coastal defences will reduce the risk of a major flood event in Southsea now and for the next 100 years. The project will protect more than 10,000 homes and 700 businesses as well as several listed structures and scheduled monuments. Southsea Coastal Scheme also seeks to enable regeneration, enhance the public realm and improve the setting of the many historic and cultural features that make Southsea seafront so unique.
