The recent Policy Note to the Public Service (Social Value) Act (2012) ensures that social value will become a mainstream priorityThis CPD, presented by Natalie Webster, Senior Social Sustainability Manager at Kier Construction, will cover the following:
- Legislation change - discuss the 2020 change in legislation when it became a requirement to explicitly evaluate Social Value on government construction works, not just consider it as previous legislation advised
- Measuring Social Value - this tends to be an area of contention/confusion
- Useful tools/resources - such as Social Value calculators
- Best Practice - changes in recent years and how change is pushing forward

Natalie Webster is Senior Social Sustainability Manager for Kier Construction. She has worked for Kier for 4 years and been in her current role for 18 months.
Her role involves developing the strategy for delivering maximum social value on Kier’s construction contracts and leading the team of local CSR Managers.
She is passionate about providing a tailored and positive impact to the communities Kier serves and has a keen interest in the different methodologies of social value calculation.
