Angela Mansell is the Managing Director of Mansell Building Solutions, one of the UK’s most established and experienced specialist contractors in off-site construction. After 17 years as Operations Director, Angela took over the second-generation family business with her sister in 2018 and has led the company as MD since 2019. Under her stewardship, Mansell has grown into a leading voice in panelised Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), delivering over 100,000 m² of structural panels annually from its 45,000 sq ft facility in Greater Manchester.
Angela is a passionate advocate for innovation, sustainability, and collaboration within construction. She has spearheaded Mansell’s inclusion on major national frameworks, and regularly speaks at national platforms including UKREiiF, MIPIM, and the Housing Conference, where she champions a more joined-up, people-first approach to building.
A vocal champion of neurodiversity and mental health, Angela brings lived experience as a neurodivergent leader and parent. She speaks candidly about the challenges neurodivergent individuals face - particularly in high-pressure sectors like construction - and uses her platform to drive awareness, inclusion, and change. Her leadership style is informed by empathy and authenticity, fostering a culture where difference is seen as a strength, not a deficit. She challenges the industry to move beyond awareness and toward action - advocating for flexibility, psychological safety, and environments where all minds can thrive.
Her people-focused leadership has been recognised industry-wide: Mansell was named "Employer of the Year" at the 2023 City of Manchester Business Awards, and Angela herself was awarded Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Building (FCIOB) in the same year, commended as a “passionate, knowledgeable, and influential leader.”
Angela is also a strong voice for social value. Her guiding principle, “delivering homes for local people, by local people,” reflects Mansell’s commitment to local supply chains, upskilling regional talent, and building communities that last. In recent years, the business has raised thousands for charity and invested heavily in community and wellbeing programmes across the North West.
As a regular contributor to high-level industry roundtables, Angela continues to push for a more inclusive, collaborative, and sustainable construction future. Her story is one of legacy and leadership - honouring the past while redefining what it means to lead in construction today.
