The CIOB has entered the degree apprenticeships market to raise the profile of apprenticeships and provide reassurance to employers that apprenticeship reform and end-point assessment is a positive change. End-point assessment delivered by CIOB was driven by construction employers as a guarantee that apprentices will receive impartial, robust and fair assessment, meaning they can hit the ground running from day one of post apprenticeship employment.

CIOB are approved to deliver end-point assessments for the following Degree Level apprenticeship standards:

  • Level 6 Construction Site Management
  • Level 6 Construction Quantity Surveyor
  • Level 6 Design and Construction Management

We have a team of independent end-point assessors who are CIOB members or fellows. They have a wealth of experience in assessment and are well positioned to ensure all apprentices receive a fair, robust and comparable assessment decision and grade.

Our market-leading resources have been specifically designed to support apprentices with what to expect as part of their end-point assessment and training providers on how they can support and prepare their apprentices for end-point assessment. CIOB have additional layers of support and guidance in place for all training providers, apprentices and their employers. We offer bespoke training for staff delivering the apprenticeship along with webinars, to manage apprentice expectations and ensure they have a comprehensive understanding of the assessment process.

CIOB has partnered with ACE360 as its preferred end-point assessment management system. The whole end-point assessment process is planned and scheduled through the system using bespoke booking tools.

The 20-question knowledge test is delivered using online proctor invigilated software, meaning apprentices can complete their assessment at a location of their choice. The project and professional discussion will be planned and assessed based around the apprentice’s appetite for achievement, meaning the whole end-point assessment can be completed in 4-5 weeks. CIOB’s team of independent end-point assessors will also provide comprehensive and instantaneous grading and feedback.

A unique offer is in place, where apprentices can use all their apprenticeship evidence to achieve MCIOB. MCIOB is only available to apprentices who have completed their end-point assessment with CIOB, to ensure we align to our core values. We cannot extend this offer to other end-point assessment organisations as internal quality assurance measures are required to ensure comparability for all graduates.

All CIOB apprentices are invited to attend a graduation ceremony where they will have the opportunity to network with other graduating members and fellows.
