Summary

Build your inclusion toolbelt with practical strategies for creating inclusive, welcoming and psychologically safe workplaces.

Join us for an engaging and practical session focused on creating more inclusive, welcoming and psychologically safe environments across the skilled trades and construction industry.

Developed by Jacquie Dymianiw and Jamie Thiessen as part of NAIT’s Women Leading and Building Canada’s Future initiative, Tools for the Trades uses familiar trade tools as a creative way to explore concepts of inclusion, belonging and workplace culture.

Throughout the session, participants will look at everyday tools through a different lens, connecting how they are used on the job with practical strategies for working better together. Each tool introduces an inclusive workplace concept and encourages discussion, reflection and practical action.

Participants will leave with ideas they can add to their own “inclusion toolbelt” and apply within their teams, workplaces and learning environments.

Who should attend:
Professionals across construction and the skilled trades, including leaders, managers, educators, apprentices and anyone interested in building more inclusive workplaces.

Please note this event is for over 18 only.

This learning activity can contribute to your annual CPD return and should be logged accordingly.
