The National Disability Strategy, published in July 2021, sets out how we will work towards creating a society that is fully inclusive for disabled people. A key commitment in the strategy is to consult on the issue of workforce reporting on disability for large employers, exploring voluntary and mandated workplace transparency.
This consultation is an important step in ensuring UK Government have the best evidence to inform their approach as they seek to ensure inclusive workplaces, increase opportunities for disabled people and tackle the disability employment gap.
CIOB responded to the Disability Workforce Reporting consultation through their web survey. Through this consultation, the Cabinet Office’s Disability Unit is exploring how best to increase transparency and reporting practices that support the cultural changes required to build a more inclusive society.
