CIOB responded to the Centre for Social Justice's (CSJ) call for evidence which sought views on the root causes of the construction skills shortage, what is not working in the existing policy framework, and ideas for policy interventions to support a robust and sustainable construction workforce.

Our response, which can be downloaded to the right of this text, covered some of the structural issues in the construction sector and potential policy changes that could support increased numbers joining the sector and mechanisms to retain them.

We understand the CSJ will publish their full report towards the end of 2025.
