This draft strategy sets out a vision that by 2050, Northern Ireland will have an innovative, inclusive and competitive economy where business, people and planet flourish, with responsible production and consumption at its core. It will be a key enabler of Northern Ireland’s 10X Economic Vision for a decade of innovation.  

The CIOB's response leveraged our increasing body of work on sustainability in the built environment, and covered areas such as the reuse of materials from demolition projects, the need to create a policy and regulatory environment that ensures buildings can adapt to different uses over time, the need for procurement practices to reflect wider sustainability policy goals, and the importance of green skills in the construction sector.
