Graduate Conversion Certificate

This qualification provides a pathway to Chartership if you have a degree in a subject not related to construction. On completion of this qualification, it will shorten your journey so you can apply and could be Chartered in three years.

About the Qualification

This qualification provides a route to Chartered Membership if you already hold a degree in a subject unconnected with construction. On completion of this qualification with three years of managerial experience, you will be eligible for the Professional Review to apply for Chartered Membership.

Course structure

Learners undertake 6 units that develop the underpinning knowledge and skills required of a competent construction manager (from the CIOB Certificate/Diploma in Construction Site Management syllabus). The Health and Safety Unit is a mandatory component of the qualification and must be completed unless the candidate holds an exempted qualification such as the SMSTS. Upon completion of the course, graduates receive a CIOB Certificate in Construction Site Management. Candidates may then apply for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).

To embark on this course the student must be working in a management role within the construction industry and have their degree validated by the CIOB.
