As you know the CIOB has a thriving and strong global community and audience from the education sector leading on built environment research and education. Through our accreditation process and open relationship building, we are privileged to be surrounded by a very active and resourceful community, keen to share and support their peers, organisations and stakeholders.

A snapshot of the statistics informs us that we have 92 institutions accredited across the world. This is a culmination of 285 courses accredited at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The courses range from construction management, real estate and property management quantity surveying to architectural technology, facilities management and civil engineering. Our education establishments are continuously innovating the curriculum and developing technical and degree studies to meet the demand of the industry, employees and future talents.

As a result, we have been pondering how best to engage and bring our global academic community together in one virtual space, and this has resulted in the creation of the CIOB Academic Summit 2022.

The CIOB Academic Summit, taking place on 14 September 2022, is a unique conference dedicated to our global academic community. This accessible virtual conference will lead the way to transform our academics’ connect-ability on a global scale, leading the way for cross collaborations, sharing of cutting-edge research, knowledge, and education and most importantly building of a strong sense of community.

We understand that no two institutions are the same and the challenges and opportunities are vast. The summit expects to bring together leaders and pioneers in built environment education on a global scale so that knowledge can be shared, confidence can be built and agility, innovation, and inclusivity in academia can be demonstrated. We aim to produce opportunities for problem solving partnerships and open communications through this conference.

Let’s be frank, we cannot make this event fantastic without your input and so to produce this virtual conference, we are seeking input from you, our community of practice.
