Chartered Companies - a year in review
Chartered Companies - a year in review
The mark of a company’s professionalism.
What a year it has been! This was our first year operating under the new assessment framework, alongside proposed enhancements to the service, and the response from our Chartered Companies has been phenomenal. Together, we’ve achieved so much.
Increased benefits of Company Membership
We successfully moved to the new Chartered Company standards, designed to showcase your professionalism and assure clients of the quality and integrity of your work.
Exploring new ways to help you promote your business, our improved directory now makes it easier for clients to find you, featuring project examples, services offered, work values and coverage areas. This upgrade ensures your expertise is front and centre.
We also launched toolkits to help you promote your Chartered status internally and externally, showcasing your professionalism to clients and staff, and revealed the refreshed CIOB Chartered Company logo.
Our wide-reaching digital campaign ran across Google, LinkedIn, and select print and online channels, driving:
- 300,000+ impressions
- 16,000+ click-throughs to the directory
- 80,000+ video views featuring industry leaders and client testimonials
We also introduced a suite of new benefits to support your business, including:
- heavily discounted AA breakdown recovery
- 15% off all CIOB Academy courses
- 50% off CM Magazine job advertisements
- 10% off Corporate Partnership packages
- discounts on major CIOB event tickets
- free access to AI services from Zapt
We’re looking forward to welcoming new Expert Partners next year, bringing even more offers to help your business thrive.
Keeping up-to-date with the latest advances
Our Company Members had exclusive access to a wealth of knowledge through CIOB. This allowed us to deliver a series of bespoke webinars on critical topics, including:
- Building Safety Act
- Sustainability in Construction
- Maximising R&D Funding
- UN Sustainability Goals & the Built Environment
- Retrofit Market Opportunities
We’re continuing this series in 2026, with registration for the first webinar on Leadership Insights: Guiding companies to support industry talent now open.
Opportunities to meet in-person are also important, and our first Company Member & Client Forum in Reading exceeded expectations:
- more than 150 registrations, with 119 attendees on the day
- dynamic Client panel discussions and networking opportunities
- overwhelmingly positive feedback and great ideas for 2026
External promotion of Company Members
Along with internal speaking opportunities, we also provided an external platform for Chartered Companies, from speaking engagements to panel discussions.
Grand Designs Live featured six best-practice sessions with CIOB Chartered Companies and RIBA Practices, including one chaired by Kevin McCloud, while interviews and features in Build Cost Live 2025 and Education Estates also promoted your expertise to clients.
Overall, we generated more than 20 articles in client-focused publications, including Grand Designs magazine, featuring insights from Chartered Company leaders.
What’s coming in 2026
We’re riding this momentum into the new year, with regional and national events on Business Resilience, further enhancements to the Company Directory, and the launch of Digital Badges for Chartered Companies.
We’re also planning further benefits, including:
- introduction of Chartered Company Business Mentoring
- increased marketing to clients
- access to CIOB Professional Development Partner service
- more Expert Partners to support your growth
