Qualification information
The CIOB Level 3 Construction Support Technician apprenticeship is a work-based course that trains people to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects. Apprentices learn skills such as interpreting drawings, managing project information, assisting with estimating and procurement, and ensuring health and safety standards are followed. The course combines on-the-job experience with training and usually lasts around two years, finishing with an End-Point Assessment (EPA) to confirm competence in the role.

Entry Requirements
Desirable:
- GCSE Maths and English – usually grade 4 (C) or above
- Around 3–4 GCSEs total at grade 4–9 (or equivalent)
If you don’t have Maths or English at grade 4, you can often still start the apprenticeship but will need to complete Functional Skills qualifications during the course.
Employment requirement:
- Have a job with a construction employer
- Work at least 30 hours per week in a relevant role (office or site support).
