Introduction 

The next Welsh Senedd election will be held on 7 May 2026. In advance of the election, CIOB has produced a manifesto outlining our vision and priorities for the construction sector and built environment over the next four years.

The construction sector in Wales remains a key economic driver and employer. It influences productivity and well-being at home and at work. It creates and maintains the placed that people live, work, and play in, and the infrastructure that supports them.

This manifesto sets out a bold but realistic set of recommendations for the next Welsh Government and elected Members of Senedd to prioritise and support the sector, as well as achieve housing and net zero aims and ensure that the construction sector can flourish.
