Ntando Teddy Khuzwayo is the Membership and Education Lead for the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) in Sub-Saharan Africa. In this role, he drives educational initiatives, strengthens industry partnerships, and leads membership growth strategies that enhance CIOB’s presence and impact across the region. He works closely with universities, government bodies, and employers to promote professional standards and build a stronger pipeline of skilled graduates for the built environment.
With over a decade of experience in operational management, programme leadership, and education engagement, Ntando has built a track record of delivering results through collaboration and strategic planning. He has overseen regional partnerships, coordinated hub committees, facilitated CPD programmes, and represented CIOB at major industry events. His leadership has directly contributed to the growth of CIOB student chapters, employer engagement activities, and member retention across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Before his current role, Ntando served as CIOB’s Education Liaison Manager, where he integrated CIOB qualifications into higher education curricula, ran professional development workshops for academics, and increased student engagement by 40%. He previously held leadership positions at the Rural Education Access Programme and the AIDS Foundation of South Africa, where he managed large-scale projects, partnerships, and student development programmes.
A committed advocate for education, sustainability, and diversity in the built environment, Ntando also serves on the Advisory Committee of Tshwane University of Technology. His contributions have been recognized through multiple CIOB ACT Excellence Awards.
