Summary

Join CIOB London Tomorrow's Leaders for our popular legal event of the year at Pinsent Masons Auditorium in London Crown Place offices.

This CPD session will cover the key case law developments in the infrastructure sector over the last year and why they matter to you.

Special guest hosts: Ben Guest, Alice Logan, Angelika Gornikowska and Christopher Skinner will spend the evening discussing the most important court decisions from 2025 and provide some practical tips to help you to avoid common pitfalls.

There will also be opportunity at the end to ask questions to Ben and his co-presenters after this CPD.

Speakers:

Ben Guest is a Senior Associate who specialises in international arbitration and cross-border litigation involving complex engineering, procurement and high-value construction disputes arising out of major projects. He has worked on a broad range of energy and infrastructure projects across the UK, Europe, Central and Eastern Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean. Ben supports employers, contractors and state‑owned entities on live project risk management. He is known for combining deep technical construction knowledge with practical, commercially focused insight, particularly in relation to geopolitical risk, supply chain disruption and programme uncertainty.

Alice Logan is an Associate in the Construction Advisory & Disputes team. She specialises in construction, infrastructure and energy disputes, alongside providing project and contract advisory support on major projects. Her experience includes working on complex, high‑value contentious matters, high-value international arbitrations and disputes connected with major energy and infrastructure projects. Alice is New Zealand qualified and brings international experience across complex construction and infrastructure matters.

Angelika Gornikowska is an Associate in the Construction Advisory & Disputes team. She advises on a broad range of contentious and non‑contentious construction matters, supporting clients across infrastructure and development projects. Angelika trained at Pinsent Masons and qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2023. Before that, Angelika completed a law degree in Poland and gained valuable in‑house experience within the life sciences sector, advising on commercial and regulatory issues. She is known for her practical, commercially focused approach to managing risk and resolving disputes on complex projects.

Christopher Skinner is an Associate in the Projects & Construction team. He advises on construction and infrastructure matters, bringing a strong commercial and technical perspective to complex projects. Christopher qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2024, having trained at Pinsent Masons. Prior to qualifying as a lawyer, he built an extensive engineering and commercial career at Rolls‑Royce and KONGSBERG, working in senior commercial, contracts and programme management roles across the aerospace and engineering sectors. His background as both an engineer and lawyer enables him to provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice on technically complex construction and infrastructure projects.
