Summary

Discover the essentials of construction quality management, including planning, assurance, risk and stakeholder roles.

Quality is a fundamental element of successful construction projects, yet it is often viewed too narrowly as a measure of the finished product alone. This CPD session will explore the principles of quality management and demonstrate how a holistic approach to quality can deliver better project outcomes, reduce risk, and improve overall performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Russell Dowman MCIOB PCQI , Quality Management Specialist at Bowmer + Kirkland will explore what quality really means and why it matters. Russell will take you through the project lifecycle, highlighting the vital role quality plays at every stage—from project inception through to completion. Discover how a proactive approach to quality can add value, prevent issues, improve outcomes and ultimately contribute to the successful delivery of projects.

Peter Watts CMIOSH FIIRSM Group SHEQ Manager at SRC Group will explore how SRC Group is delivering a truly circular business model by transforming construction and demolition waste, along with other waste streams, into high-quality recycled materials and products. Starting with the recovery of materials from end-of-life buildings through to their reuse in the construction of new buildings and infrastructure, SRC demonstrates how quality, sustainability and innovation work together. The presentation will highlight how circular economy principles help reduce energy consumption, lower embodied CO₂, save customers time and road miles as well as delivering significant cost benefits, whilst maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
