Summary
CPAS, overseen by BTRi , offers a standardised fast-track system for building material approval, reducing duplication to ensure quality.Established by the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) and recognised by the Development Bureau, the Construction Product Accreditation Scheme (CPAS) provides a gateway for high-quality and cost-effective construction products from the Mainland and overseas into the Hong Kong construction industry, with a view of cutting down construction cost and streamlining the approval procedures in future. Under the scheme, BTRi conducts technical vetting and issues certificates to products based on supplier submissions. At this exclusive webinar, BTRi will showcase both CPAS and their latest construction innovation initiatives introduced since its establishment in August 2024.
Key Learning Outcomes:
- The Construction Product Accreditation Scheme (CPAS), overseen by BTRi in Hong Kong, provides a standardised "fast pass" for evaluating and verifying new building materials. It is highly beneficial as it eliminates redundant project-by-project reviews while safeguarding the quality of construction materials.
- Be informed on how CPAS offers concrete benefits across the entire construction industry.
- Understand BTRi’s role in advancing applied R&D, standards advancement, and accreditation in the construction sector.
- Explore how adopting CPAS-approved products can reduce duplicated submissions and enhance programme certainty.
- Discover opportunities to access high-quality, cost-effective construction products suitable for both public and private projects.
