Summary

Everything we do in the modern world is enhanced through data, and construction and estate management is no different.

Please note: this event is for over 18’s only.

From BIM to Digital Twins, the emerging world of construction data is transforming how facility owners and public sector organisations manage buildings, meet legislative requirements and deliver better outcomes.

With legislation such as the Building Safety Act placing greater emphasis on accountability, information management and the need for a reliable ‘golden thread’ of information, having accurate and accessible building data is becoming essential. At the same time, technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), connected building systems and digital twins are enabling organisations to understand how buildings perform in real time, improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and manage risk with greater certainty.

The potential benefits extend beyond compliance, helping organisations make informed decisions that can improve safety in occupation, support sustainability, enhance asset performance and potentially reduce insurance premiums through better risk management.

Everything we do in the modern world is increasingly enhanced through data, and construction and estate management are no different. BIM is evolving from a process focused primarily on design and construction into a connected information ecosystem that supports the entire building lifecycle.

The technology is becoming more accessible, but the real challenge—and opportunity—is understanding how to navigate this landscape, identify the information that matters, connect it effectively and turn it into meaningful business outcomes.

This learning activity can contribute to your annual CPD return and should be logged accordingly.
