Join the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) for an expert-led webinar hosted by Dr Gina Al-Talal, CIOB's Head of Technical and Standards Development, as we explore the impact of AI on the construction industry.

This online webinar will be presented by Dr Faris Elghaish who will explore:

• Overview of key AI technologies and algorithms relevant to the construction sector

• Practical AI use cases across the project lifecycle, from concept design to project close-out
• Approaches to maximising the benefits of AI through effective technology integration
• Guidance on upskilling to leverage AI for day-to-day professional tasks

By the end of this webinar, attendees will have a much better knowledge of AI and the part it plays within the indistry.

There will also be a Q&A at the end of the presentation hosted by Dr Gina Al-Talal.

Dr Gina Al-Talal - Head of Technical & Standards Development
The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)

Dr Gina Al-Talal is a Fellow of the CIOB with over 30 years’ experience in the construction sector and membership organisations. She is the Head of Technical and Standards Development at the CIOB, where she leads the delivery of CPDs, technical publications, and the organisation’s online library and information services. Gina works closely with subject matter experts to ensure content remains relevant, high-quality, and aligned with industry needs.

Dr Faris Elghaish - Senior Lecturer in Digital Construction & Programme Director of MSc in Applied Digital Construction Management.
Queen's University, Belfast

Dr Faris Elghaish is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Construction and Programme Director of the MSc in Applied Digital Construction Management at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB). He is a Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) and a Chartered Project Management Surveyor (MRICS). His research focuses on AI-enabled construction, Building Information Modelling, Digital Twins, and data-driven project delivery. Dr Elghaish has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers in leading international journals, including Automation in Construction. He has co-led and contributed to funded research and knowledge-transfer projects supported by Innovate UK and InterTradeIreland, working closely with industry partners to advance BIM adoption and emerging digital construction technologies.
