Higher Apprenticeships launched in Wales to meet construction growth
University of Wales Trinity Saint David has announced two new Higher Apprenticeship programmes in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying. The University worked with industry partners, inlcuding the CIOB, the Construction Wales Innovation Centre and the Construction Industry Training Board to develop these programmes, which are on offer from October 2018.

CIOB reveals winners of Global Student Challenge
A team from Toronto has won the fifth annual Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Global Student Challenge competition, facing a fiercely competitive international field. The Stalwart Construction Group, as they named themselves, from George Brown College, are the first Canadian team to make the finals. They collected their award from CIOB President Chris Soffe at his Inaugural Dinner, in one of his first official acts as President earlier this month.

CIOB Board of Trustees' Election Results 2018
All votes have now been verified and counted. 4,038 voters took part in the election, with 20 spoilt papers confirmed. (19.7% of the electorate). In accordance with the Bye-Laws, the three candidates with the highest votes are deemed elected from the close of the AGM. Christine Gausden, James Tucker and Ian Brant have accepted the positions and will be duly elected to the Board of Trustees’ for tenure of 3 years, commencing at the close of the AGM.
