Working Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week
Contract Type: Permenant

About Us

Would it inspire you to see the tangible impact of your work on the world? To work for an international organisation that is committed to making a positive difference for people globally? If so, we could be the organisation for you. We are the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the world's largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership.

About the Role

Here at the CIOB, we are now looking for a Regional Manager to develop and execute the Sub-Saharan Africa Strategy, particularly in the area of developing key industry stakeholder relationships – industry bodies and local employers. Key objectives are to raise the profile and growth of the CIOB in the region, in order to retain current members and achieve growth through new member acquisition.

About you

We’re looking for someone who has demonstrable experience in a similar role, with excellent business development and client service skills, along with experience of building and maintaining excellent partner relationships.  You will be a strategic thinker, with the ability to think creatively and identify areas for development and opportunity.  You’ll strive for excellence, with a focus on achieving or exceeding targets and KPIs.

A confident presenter, we’d love it if you bring to the role experience of promoting products or services, but regardless you’ll be an excellent all-round communicator with the ability to adjust your communication style to a wide range of audiences and levels of seniority and have a passion for networking and building and maintaining partner relationships.

With good financial management skills to include business planning, budgets and forecasting, you’ll bring excellent managerial skills to the role, and will be proficient in MS Office, internal systems and social media.

Experience of the built environment sector or within a professional body is preferred but certainly not essential. Experience of working remotely or with colleagues across geographic boundaries would also be viewed favourably.

Why Work For Us?

We can offer you not only the opportunity to make a real difference with the work you do, but the chance to do that in a friendly, flexible and supportive working environment, where we’ll show you that we’re committed to your personal wellbeing and to your development within your role. We also hold a Silver Investors in People Award, and we’ll offer you a fantastic range of benefits, which we really hope will show you our commitment to you as an employee.
