CIOB 2030 Visionary Project: Your vision, Our Goal

In June 2020 CIOB President Mark Beard announced the launch of the CIOB 2030 Visionary Project. This exciting new initiative aims to set up a global vision for the CIOB based on industry best practice and where the built environment should develop to over the next decade; analysing emerging trends and implementing new technologies.

The first wave of consultation took place over the summer of 2020 with CIOB members participating in workshops through local Novus groups, hubs and engagement with special interest groups. The results are in! And the next step involves dissecting and analysing these to establish what the CIOB’s 2030 vision should be.

We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has participated to date so far – especially those who have spent your valuable time running workshops and compiling the results of the consultation. Your input cannot be underestimated, and we are excited to start the process of formulating the vision based on your input. For anyone who has not yet participated, fear not, there will be other rounds of consultation and plenty of opportunity for you to make your voice heard. More on this over the coming months.

For now, the 2030 Visionary Steering Group are busy with task of reviewing the consultation results and establishing key themes, trends and patterns. The results of which will be released in due course and we will be in touch in the new year with next steps to move the 2030 Visionary Project forward.

The CIOB is dedicated to maintaining its status as a leading and influential professional body, and the 2030 Visionary project will help keep the CIOB relevant and continue to drive industry excellence. Your vision is our goal - we want to create a better future for everyone involved with the Built Environment.

There is a lot going on in the world at the current time, but we remain excited for a brilliant and empowered future. In the meantime, stay safe and stay tuned. Thank you.
