The Chartered Membership Programme

The CIOB recognises that there are many people in the sector who have gained the requisite knowledge and management skills to merit entry to CIOB through membership, though they may not have the full academic qualifications.

The Chartered Membership Programme is a route to MCIOB for individuals with significant management experience who lack formal qualifications at honours degree level. It enhances competence skills through a knowledge-based programme.

Candidates register with an approved Provider and sit an Open Book exam at the end of the course in either June or November. Candidates who successfully pass the exam can then progress to the Professional Review

As the CMP is not a certified qualification, we do not send out certificates of achievement. At the CIOB we like to recognise success amongst our candidates and as such, every year we look at the top scoring candidates from both the June and November exams and award these candidates with a prize (glass engraved paperweight) and congratulatory certificate.

In 2021, 216 candidates sat the June exam and a further 176 sat the November exam. The exam compromises 4 modules which are each marked out of a total of 30 marks.

Our awards for 2021 went to:

  • Gold Award - Daniel Grocott with a combined score of 110 out of 120 marks
  • Silver Award - Andre Camilleri with a combined score of 106 out of 120 marks
  • Bronze Award - Kieran Lonergan with a combined score of 105 out of 120 marks

Many Congratulations to all three candidates!

‘For many years I have wanted to gain a recognised professional qualification in my industry but due to the commitments of work and family I have never found a suitable time to achieve this goal. When I discovered the CMP course, delivered by Steve Payne Consultants, I realised there was an opportunity to achieve my aim while still maintaining my other commitments.  I am very grateful to Steve and Suzanne for all their support and guidance throughout this process and I am very pleased to also receive the CMP Bronze award’.
