About the Role

We are looking to appoint a Communications Officer to join our Communications team based at our head office in Bracknell. This role will report to the Head of Communications.

The Communications Officer is responsible for telling the CIOB story by promoting our services and products engaging both external and internal audiences, including liaising with suppliers. Implementing and developing communication strategies and plans, ensuring what we say is consistent across multiple channels by writing, editing, and publishing CIOB messaging in print and digital media channels.

As part of this you will be responsible for the main CIOB social media channels including creating a programme of social media postings and blogs that aligns with external relations activity, generating growth in followers, writing content for CIOB online and publishing it.


What we’re looking for…

To be successful in this role, you will need a passion for Communications in general and the written word specifically. You will also be experienced in developing and implementing communications strategies and campaigns/projects. No day will be the same and as a skilled copy-writer, your creativity, attention to detail and adaptability will enable you to demonstrate your skills across a range of different channels to different audiences, ranging from new items, blogging, tweets, and other areas of social media. As part of this, decent analytical skills will be required to ensure you know how to measure, evaluate and report on communications objectives.

You will also be involved in refining and developing existing content so that it is engaging, accessible and has high visibility in search engines. You will also manage the production of multimedia content and other ways of promoting CIOB activity, including producing video briefs and capturing video and photographic content on our own equipment. 

You will be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Your ability to manage multiple tasks and balance the demands of differing stakeholders to deadlines and budget will be essential.

You ideally will have a working knowledge of content management systems (e.g. WordPress and Drupal), that are necessary to deliver the communications to a professional standard together with an excellent understanding of web based technologies, as well as a high level of proficiency with all MS Office products.
