Summary

You are cordially invited to the second Asia Pacific Fellows Forum.

The Forum will give Fellows in the region an opportunity to discuss industry topics and form a community at a time of day that encourages attendance, and input from our region on topics of significance to the industry.

The objective of the Asia-Pacific Forum is to:

1. Share knowledge across the region

2. Identify topics for discussion and action

3. Showcase the influence and impact of Fellows

4. Encourage and support more Fellows from under-represented groups

5. Collaborate with and inform Advisory Panels and Working Groups

6. Produce output that may inform CIOB strategies in the region, research, papers, articles and/or blogs

DISCUSSION TOPIC: PRODUCTIVITY-QUALITY-SAFETY

How do we know when we are doing well? What are the metrics of Productivity?

We all like feeling useful and productive. How is productivity identified and measured around the world? Which of these measures most closely resembles the positive nature of productivity and which can conceal the compromises that get made when we are focussed on meeting the numbers.

What motivates Productivity?

If productivity in the building industry means making quality, useful buildings without anyone or anything getting hurt, how do we motivate towards this end? In which context(s) should we apply these targets so they are effective?

The forum will be chaired by Michaela Cook FCIOB, with administrative support from Steve Corry, Head of International. A CIOB staff member from our Policy and Public Affairs team will be invited at the beginning to facilitate discussion on the topic for this session.

Please note the meeting will be held in English.

We look forward to your attendance and input.
