Join the Chartered Institute of Building and the Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) for an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to Ouroboros, a Toronto-based company redefining material recovery through deconstruction. Ouroboros salvages valuable building materials with a full-circle approach to material recovery. Through deconstruction and salvage, recovered goods bypass landfills and are returned to the materials ecosystem. Inspired by the ancient symbol of renewal, the company is demonstrating how thoughtful deconstruction can support a more circular and sustainable built environment.During the tour, attendees will explore the studio, workshop, and retail space while learning about:

  • The deconstruction process and material recovery
  • Salvaged building materials, furniture, and architectural elements
  • How recovered materials are processed and prepared for reuse
  • The practical role of the circular economy in construction

Following the tour, attendees are invited to enjoy light refreshments and network with fellow industry professionals. This site visit offers a unique opportunity to gain practical insight into sustainable construction practices and discover how deconstruction is creating new value from existing buildings.Thank you!
