Summary

An exclusive site visit to Shoreham Port, followed by networking over coffee and cake. Empowering and supporting women in the industry.

Join the CIOB for an exclusive site visit to Shoreham Port, followed by networking over coffee/tea and cake — a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired alongside other women in the construction industry.

Taking place at one of the South Coast’s most vital commercial hubs, this visit offers a behind-the-scenes look at Shoreham Port, a 110-acre site operating 24/7 with a proud history dating back to 1760. You’ll gain insight into the Port’s core operations — from the handling of timber, steel, and bulk cargoes to its role in supporting over 175 local businesses and delivering marine services to commercial and leisure users alike.

Participants will also learn about the Port’s long-standing commitment to sustainability, including its on-site solar arrays, wind turbines, and status as a certified EcoPort for over a decade. As a Trust Port, Shoreham is uniquely positioned to reinvest in its community and stakeholders, guided by values that promote growth, innovation, and environmental stewardship.

After the tour, enjoy a chance to relax and network with fellow attendees over coffee/tea and cake at the Port Kitchen, the Port’s own hospitality venue. Refreshments are kindly sponsored by the Port.

Who Should Attend: Women working in or aspiring to work in construction and related industries, although the event is open to all those involved in the built environment. Whether you’re an experienced construction professional, just starting out, or studying a related subject, this event promises to offer valuable insights, inspiration, and connections in an engaging and supportive setting.

Members: gain 2 CIOB CPD points when you reflect on the ethical aspects of your learning from this activity.

Please note: this event is for over 18’s only
