Site tour of Castell Coch

Castell Coch, or the ‘Red Castle’, rises up from the ancient beech woods of Fforest Fawr like a vision from a fairy tale. Yet these great towers with their unmistakable conical roofs only hint at the splendour within.

The John Weaver Conservation team have been appointed by Cadw to complete two phases of conservation works, namely to the chimneys, kitchen, well towers and stone remedial works. They would be delighted for CIOB members to join them for a behind the scenes tour of the project.

PPE required : steel toe cap boots as a minimum, visitors will be provided with hard hats and hi-viz vests.

Please note particpants will need to be fit and able to ascend 12no lifts of scaffolding (via a haki staircase)

You must register in advance to attend.
