Summary

A discussion on the risks, opportunities and pressures shaping the future of Ontario’s construction industry.

Ontario’s construction sector is navigating a period of significant change. Shifting demand, economic uncertainty, tariffs, labour shortages and rising costs are creating new pressures, while infrastructure investment, technology and evolving delivery models continue to create opportunities.

Join the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Syrian Professionals Arab Network for Engineers & Architects (SPAN-EA). for a timely industry discussion exploring where the Ontario construction market is heading, what is affecting project viability and how the sector can respond.

The conversation will consider:

  • Where construction demand is heading across residential, infrastructure, industrial and public-sector projects
  • How interest rates, financing costs and economic uncertainty are affecting projects
  • The impact of tariffs, material costs and supply-chain pressures
  • Skilled-trade shortages, retirements and competition for talent
  • The role of AI, technology, prefabrication and automation in improving productivity
  • What industry, government and municipalities can do to support a more competitive and resilient construction sector
