Coughton Court Through the Roof Project - site visit

Summary

Coughton Court is a Grade 1 listed house set in 25 acres of grounds in North Warwickshire and has a history connected to the Gunpowder Plot. The property is currently undergoing a £3m widescale conservation project which will see repairs across the entirety of the house, addressing a backlog of deterioration and implementing improvements to prevent further decline. This includes significant re-roofing, window repairs, masonry and stonework repairs, as well as reinterpretation of the historic collection to allow visitors a new perspective on conservation and collection management whilst the property is disrupted by construction. The project will be ongoing for approximately 18 months between Autumn 2023 and Spring 2025.

The tour will provide the opportunity to explore the interior of the mansion to understand how the visitor experience has been impacted by the project, and access to construction of Phase 2 of the project, which will be focussing on the Gatehouse.

Visitors are required to wear full PPE – steel cap boots, Hi-Viz and a hard hat. The property is unable to provide any PPE therefore all visitors must source their own.
