Jamal Khan

Associate Fire Safety Advisor
Tetra Tech

Jamal is the Associate Fire Safety Advisor and team lead in the South region of Tetra Tech. This includes being the Technical lead and Project lead on a number of clients.

Jamal is currently a Member Grade (MIFSM) with the Institution of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM). He is a Nationally Accredited Fire Risk Assessor – Tier 3. He holds Engineering Technician (EngTech) with the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) along with a Technician Grade membership (TIFireE). Jamal is also an IFE Registered Fire Risk Assessor – Life Safety Assessor. He is also a certified Fire Door Inspector (CertFDI) and a member of NAFDI. 

He has worked within the fire consultancy sector for over 15 years carrying out the full range of fire consultancy services on all types of premises for public and commercial clients including the Government Property Agency, HMRC, QinetiQ, UK Border Force, large city councils in London and G15 Registered Social Landlords.

Jamal has extensive knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Building Safety Act, and the Fire Safety Act. Jamal is a former firefighter having served 14 years within Essex County Fire & Rescue Service.

Areas of expertise - Clerk of works (Fire Safety), Fire Risk Assessment, Compartmentation Surveying, Passive Fire Protection, External Wall Systems, Fire Strategies/Fire Engineering, Fire Door Inspection, Fire Alarm Installation, Fire Safety Trainer.
