Recent activity includes responding to consultations on building safety and planning reform, contributing evidence to parliamentary committees, and supporting industry discussions on achieving Scotland’s net-zero targets. We have also engaged with skills bodies to promote clearer pathways into construction careers.

Our work includes submitting evidence on housing quality and retrofit policy, engaging with Welsh Government on the implementation of the Building Safety Act, and supporting efforts to expand apprenticeships across the built environment. We have also collaborated with industry groups to advance modern methods of construction.

Recent work includes participating in national housing and infrastructure consultations, supporting the rollout of digital construction initiatives, and partnering with stakeholders to promote higher professional standards. We have also provided industry feedback on planning processes and capacity challenges in the sector.

We have contributed to policy discussions on procurement reform, met with ministers and MLAs to highlight skills challenges, and provided industry insight on infrastructure priorities. CIOB has also been supporting local members through events focused on safety, digital adoption, and professional development.
