Our Work In The Devolved Nations
Our Work In The Devolved Nations
The CIOB works across the Devolved Nations — Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland — to influence policy, promote high standards, and support local construction priorities. It collaborates with governments and industry bodies on areas such as building safety, quality improvement, procurement, and net zero, ensuring its professional standards align with each nation’s legislation and needs.
The Challenges We Face
- Scotland: Addressing skills shortages, supporting net-zero ambitions, and improving consistency in professional standards.
- Wales: Strengthening building safety, improving housing delivery, and widening access to construction careers.
- Ireland: Meeting housing and infrastructure demand, advancing digital adoption, and raising professional standards.
- Northern Ireland: Navigating political uncertainty, improving procurement, and supporting skills development.
