Build your future in construction
The construction industry is undergoing one of the biggest transformations of any sector. As it advances toward net-zero carbon, embraces digital innovation, and places greater emphasis on social impact, the sector is creating exciting opportunities for graduates from all disciplines who are seeking purposeful, high-impact careers.
Whether your degree background is in business, STEM, the arts, humanities, ecology, or social sciences, your skills are highly sought after. Construction employers increasingly value strong communicators, creative problem-solvers, and digitally confident thinkers, qualities you already possess.

Become a Chartered Member
If you’ve just moved into the sector from a non-construction background, CIOB’s Professional Development Programme (PDP) enables you to progress to Chartered Membership via a structured and assessed route within three years.
To register for the PDP, you will need to have a degree or be working towards a degree. You also need to be working in a suitable role, such as a junior management position within the built environment or construction industry.
Upon successful completion of the programme you will gain full Chartered Member status and will be able to use the designation of MCIOB.
